Premarital Counseling

Having clearly communicated expectations is an essential component of a healthy marriage, and it’s also helpful for you to hear from us about what premarital mentoring and officiating looks like at Redeemer Bible Church. We believe that as we read God’s Word, and we seek to honor and glorify Him in all we do, that helping you prepare for a marriage that honors Christ is the most important thing we can do. Here is what that might look like:

• Complete an application for premarital mentoring with a minimum of 3 months before your wedding date (This is a prerequisite to someone from Redeemer officiating your wedding). An application is not a promise of an officiant nor a mentor couple; we will reach out to you to coordinate your conversation with a mentor couple and officiant.

There is no cost associated with your mentor couple, you will however be required to supply your own copy of the book we use, “Tying The Knot” by Rob Green, and complete a Premarital Assessment through Prepare & Enrich. We will supply you with a code to take the assessment, you as a couple will pay the one time cost of $35 to take the assessment. You will be provided with the results! You will discuss the cost of officiating directly with the officiant.

A mentor couple will take you through 8 sessions of premarital content. Multiple sessions can be discussed during the course of one meeting. Each of the meetings will have required homework that will be assigned based on the book we utilize and the mentor couple’s discernment.
